Buddha Head

This was a optimal evening for sculpture.

I was itching to make one for so long but the conditions did not allow.

As the temps were perfect i wanted to stay out and play.

The crown was made of ice cream scoops. This one was time consuming and worth every scoop.

I was thinking a Buddha symbol in the yard would create a peace, i believe it did… unfortunately it was a short lived moment.

Mother nature is unforgiving.

Winter blahs all around.

Cold, cold and more cold.

Sleep and hibernation are in order. 2014 was not a stellar winter for sculpture, nonetheless i sculpted at night and she slept in the yard. Whilst i slept every opportunity i had.

This creature came from the depths of my imagination.

It had three eyes and a big vacuum like nozzle in order to suck up all the biters.

I could not detail it to my liking as the storm was approaching.

The bug eater was the last sculpture in sand for the season. Perhaps leaving him there will ward off some of the biting bugs the next time around.

I am hopeful.

Sometimes you just have to get out of the house and explore.

Not all days are ideal nor do the elements always cooperate but we must make the best of every moment as we exist right here and now.

It was cold and buggy. I opted out of finishing but still liked this image enough to share. Unfinished.

The model came from my brother’s garden then was used to spice up my vegetarian chili dish.

It was red and had very nice curves.

Food would not be as interesting without the spicy heat in my opinion.

We should all have a garden and gather some delicious veggies from it.

The project of the day was a nose… then Michael appeared and suggested I pierce it. I was already finished!

I much liked it better unpierced but it was Michaels first day on the beach and he was exploring.

I took him for a walk and introduced him to many regulars and he discovered that I was the best person he could have approached as I am known on this beach. He was clothed and a little overwhelmed. The next time he visits I challenged him to be textile free like most of us.

I went on to take the piercing out but liked the first result better. That’s why I wear headphones.

Art makes people question.

This was fun as it left them wondering.

Four different sides unorganized.

This day was chilly. Too cold to bare it all. I proceeded with garbage collection for 3 hours.

A great way to keep warm and a clean beach is always  top priority.

Wishing others would do the same.

Spiders have eight legs and this one had eight eyes.

The eyes were discarded snail homes. Nature is forever wondrous and amazing.

I have a strong affection for spiders and love that they eat biting insects therefore ridding me of more bites.

Long live the spiders.

I came to the beach and discovered that the beach groomers had shifted my sand piles, meaning that they had messed up all the work I had done in collection, over the past months. Boo hoo! What is one to do?  The show must go on. I proceeded to collect as much pristine sand I could gather and ask a friend to relax and pose for me. I took a breath and captured his image as closely as possible. There were comments about how large he appeared in chillaxing mode. I believe it was true to size. He is a most excellent model.
