Summer 2013 was glorious. This was to be my last sculpture in sand for the year.

Shame we do not have warm weather all year long.

I received a gift from a beach goer on this day that I cherish and wear.

A gift given to me on his birthday. That has huge sentiment to me as i always gift something to someone on my B’day.

Y m stayed untouched by humans and i was fortunate to see nature caress it the next time i visited our beloved Hanlan’s.

gladys

Gladys was made on sept. 13th the final day i made a sand sculpture at Hanlan’s.

Yeah it took me long to post as i find it a lot more interesting doing sculpture than plugging away behind a computer.

She had a heart on her twat and flowers as nipples. After all gladys was a doll.

Her hair held up her head and she was left to watch over my favourite beach until the next time.

Heck, we all got them, demons that distort and fill our lives with fear and dread.

Face them, knock them down and tell them to get out of your life.

They are not worthy of keeping around.

Cast the demons, i say!

Has anyone ever heard the phrase “I want to nail you”?

This piece was light and humorous.

We can all use a good laugh, every day!

I had a helper, Elvira from Slovakia, whom i love and make  laugh.

She wet my work station and helped collect sand.

Thank-you sweet Elvira!

If one has ever truly loved they must have experienced a broken heart, and cried.

This piece touched many as emotions were felt.

A fellow regular suggested that this art piece should represent us, the beach regulars who truly sense that our paradise may be lost to greed. Greed of the head honchos who want to put a larger runway that would accommodate jets. Therefore destroying our tranquillity , our space.

Hanlan’s is sacred. The only clothing optional beach for miles around. This year we saw record numbers flocking. Many newcomers and young people. Tourists come from all around to share the day au naturel with locals. Many of us are retired and have a great social life at the beach. This place is too precious.

This place cannot be destroyed by greed. The birds are at risk. The quality of water and the fish? The thundering noise.

It is not worth it. The rich can travel 30 minutes to YYZ and get on to their jets.

We will fight and scream to be heard. Please speak up as numbers count.

I LOVE HANLAN’S !!!
